It’s Come Down To This….
A pivotal week in the Signature League this week, with two weeks to play there was a lot on the line to determine who will be crowned the first outright league winner, and who will edge out who for bragging rights going into the last week. As it stands, next week is the last week on the schedule before playoffs and it has now become a two-man race. By chance, Ryan and George will face off next week in a winner take-all match for the Signature League Title
Group One: With the crowd behind him, this was Johnny Cavs’ day as he was the heavy favorite to grab his first points. However, Ging and Jack came to PLAY - stealing the first two holes from Ryan and Johnny and it was looking like the Johnny curse was going to happen once again. With some positivity and not letting the early holes get to them, Ryan and Johnny came storming back taking 3 of the next 4 holes to go up one.. then the rain hit. With it downpouring over the course, the rain gave life to Jack and Ging who were hollering, running around shirtless, and playing through the storm, forcing this group to go on. With a miracle putt from the fringe on 17, Ging put this group all square going into the last. With a great effort from Jack who reached just beyond the green in two, his short game let him down and let Ryan sneak in and grab the last second win, getting Johnny his first points on the season. The curse is broken!
Groups Two & Three: Not much to say for these groups as the story was unfinished. Both groups were rained out early, and only able to play through 6 holes. At the dinner table, the group decided due to the rain out the leaders at the time would be granted 3 points and whoever was behind would get 1.5. Neither matchup was completely out of reach, so who knows what the true winner would’ve been. Either way, it shakes out to make next week very interesting.
