And with that, The Signature Open is officially underway! Before even getting to the box it almost came to blows between League Commissioner Cavs and the 70 year old attendant, vibes went from an all-time high to an all-time low, quickly. After threatening jail time for fighting an old man, and continuing to ask John to look at a computer – which would’ve made matters worse –  they were able to step to the side and work it out. Fuck him.

Group One: Jake & Rico Jr. vs. Cavs & Rico Sr.

Jake with the inaugural drive to set the tone blasted one about 100 yards and we were off to the races. Rico Sr. broke out the new Rams and hit one nice and easy and not much further. But when the rules were being explained he was able to roll one up he was feeling good. Cav’s with adrenaline pumping through the system, hit the drive of his life off the first box right down the center.

After Jake and Cavs traded 30 footers on the green this matchup was all it was made out to be. In the end, the team of Jake and Rico Jr. were able to take it by one hole, securing 3 points each. Uncle John was seen as the big winner, after spending most of his time in the ponds with his ball finder, walking away with more golf balls than he started with.

Group Two: Ryan & J Ging vs. Jack & Eckl

A tale of two halves for Group Two. Ryan and J Ging started solid, with Ging sticking one to 4-Feet for birdie on hole one, however the brass putter from the 1960’s didn’t do him any favors as putting would let him down all round. Stellar play from Eckl put Ryan and Ging away as he ate away at their lead and hit a walk off birdie on the last to secure the points. J Ging was wondering if his love for the Lake Show was what did it, as they collapsed in typical LeBron fashion.

Group Three: Buster & Tommy vs. Johnny & George Group Of The Week

All eyes were on Group Three as rumor spread around the range that Buster was just coming off of 9-holes and ready to go. With a wide range of experience in this group, the rumors were true as Buster and Tommy coasted to victory. Buster parred every hole, shooting a personal best of 35 and secured the points for his team. Johnny and George were simply outmatched, but we wonder if Timber Ridge had a cart-girl out if that would’ve made the difference. The league is looking internally for some way to slow down Buster’s stellar play, you might see him on the Blues next week.
