Week 12

ree

Week 12 may have been one of the most unhinged weeks the league has ever seen! It is always a special night when football season is in the air and the fellas have their fantasy draft order selection at the dinner portion of the evening.

Being that it was draft order night, Commish sent the memo out that it was jersey night at Timber Ridge and everyone showed up and showed out for it! With Luca and Daisy even rocking their Broncos and Bills jerseys, it got Geo way too excited!

With goulash featured as the nightly special, vibes were about as high as they could be before this round started. We can't believe Geo had to play solo though, you would have thought Red Fedele would have been available to hop in and play a round.. dah!

Group 1. Eckl & Bryce [-3.5]  vs. George  [+3.5]

In his second matchup of the year having to play solo, Geo was no stranger to the pressure.. but the jelly roll or whatever it was that Swoop had him on may not have helped. As this group was so stoned at the first tee they all hit their balls and sat in the carts for 5 minutes before we had to remind them they needed to go hit their next shot! With the shirt coming off for Geo by the 3rd hole, who knows how well the golf actually went in this group. All that was on Geo's mind was JA17, which is no surprise. Coming down to the last hole, this was actually a close match with team Eckl and Bryce up by the hook, and were able to close the deal, pushing Eck up dangerously close to the top spot.

Group 2. Ryan & Jake [+2.5]  vs. Rico Sr. & Anthony [-2.5]

You may or may not have seen NFL film cameras following this group as Jake and Ryan had about every NFL theme song playing in the cart, and had Tino so jacked up he hit a 340 yard drive on the first hole. Without the bunker there, he would have driven the green. Knowing they needed to keep pace with Anthony, the non-jersey wearing cart got hot early and didn't let off the gas. Ryan was able to hang with Anthony the first couple holes, matching him on 2 and 3 with birdie and par.. but then Anthony went par.. after par.. after par.. only having one bogey the whole round. Even though Ryan and Jake hung in until the end, they just couldn't sneak out a win against Anthony and Rico Sr.. who had arguably the most stress free round of his life!

Group 3. J Ging & Bunting [+2.5] vs. Rico Jr. & Jack [-2.5]

The team of JB and Bo Nix knew this was goign to be a tough test, but on jeresey night Rico Jr. came in rocking the Sundays are for Mahomies shirt and we think it may have gotten in JB's head. As Rico comfortably strolled into this match, going shoes off the whole way, Ging and JB were going to have to find some magic to pull this one off. And... they did not. With it going all the way to the 17th hole, Ging actually hung in and played a very solid round but Rico shooting a 39 was just too much. Also, it helps when Swoopy hangs up the clubs and just goes caddy mode for you! Getting hot as of late, Rico is on a 3-game tear and is now tied for first atop the leaderboard. Vegas is always watching though and next week's round is massive for that top spot.

Group 4. Cavs Sr. & Tommy [+3] vs. Buster & Turrisi Sr. [-3]

Heavy line controversy in this one as this match opened up at 2.5, moved to 3.5 and then settled at 3. With Cavs NOT wanting to lose to Turrisi Sr., you can understand why the line moved so much. But it wasn't the play of the Commish that took this one home, but the sneaky play of Tommy who was able to make some massive plays down the stretch and seal this one on the 17th. In a heartbreaker for Buster and Turrisi, who knowngly had to play very good golf to cover a -3 spread, Commish and Tommy snuck out the win. All smiles coming off the 18th green, this was just the start of Commish's big night..

Draft Night Recap

Introducing: The HIMbardi Trophy
Introducing: The HIMbardi Trophy

Switching from Signature open Commish to the Year of the Cuz Commish - Tino serenaded the group by singing Reminiscing - Little River Band, on the microphone to kick things off. It was truly over the top as the players were in tears at the table.

Gifting the inaugural trophy to last year's winner, Cavs will get to proudly display this beast of a trophy at Signature as we begin our journey to become the 2025/26 winner of the Cousin Cup.
