Week 13 - The Last Recap (Probably)

And with that, week 13 has come to a close. With a lot on the line and a lot of points spread around, Ryan the Recap Writer is getting ready to set sail and de-stress from all the trauma caused from setting the vegas lines and website management!

With tension tightening atop the leaderboard, there was a lot of hunger to see who could grab that top spot, which caused a few nice outfits to come into play. Sciortino grabbed his 8th best dressed award of the year (just a guess) with team Cavallaro and Turrisi Sr. taking home the best dressed team award, as determined by the Commish himself.

Group 1. Rico Jr.  & Eckl [-1.5]  vs. Cavs. Sr & Turrisi Sr. [+1.5]

Good thing we got this group off first, the tension was way too high! As this was the first group in history where a poll had to be sent to the greater group to see what the line should be, this matchup couldn't have been further apart in the minds of Commish and Rico Jr. With commish hoping for a line of 2 and Rico hoping for an even matchup, the group settled on 1.5. But... we still keep forgetting the guy who has been riding in the top spot for 12 consecutive weeks. Team Turrisi Sr. and Cavallaro cruised to winning this one straight up, and should have been an even match! In the famous words of Turrisi Sr... "NEXT!"

Group 2. Tommy & Ryan [-2] vs. Bunting & George [+2]

In a nice, easy going group this week, this group enjoyed the round with a lot of ugly golf. As double bogeys was the common score to push a hole, Ryan and Tommy scrambled to stay 2 ahead around the course. Coming into the 8th hole, Ryan and Tommy needed to not lose, but instead found a case of the shanks and took 6's and 7's on the par 3, pushing Geo and Bunting to 1up on the line. Into the last, they needed to win and rebound from the ugly par 3 to secure a tie, and with Ryan in for a par, came down to JB. Having flashbacks from weeks earlier where JB drilled a putt on the 9th to bury Ryan, it looked like an all to familiar situation and as the putt went.... it just lipped over the hole, securing 1.5 points for all and a well fought tie.

Group 3. Johnny Cavs & Jake [+2.5] vs. Bryce & Rico Sr. [-2.5]

Cousin no cock was back in action this week! Welcome back Johnny Cavs! In a delightful matchup featuring the Merlot Maniacs, who had 100 golf balls, pizza dip, donuts, weed, drinks, and maybe even had a movie going in the cart! In their 3rd pairing of the season for Bryce and Rico Sr., they were looking for their first win, as they've tried different outfits, different foods, different weed strands.. But the force of Sciortino is no joke, especially when he is rocking the DeChambeau had and the crisp white pants. In a smooth sailing victory, Team Jake and Johnny sealed this one on the par 5 7th in an impressive victory for the pair. Question is.. can Jake hang on being on vacation next week?

Group 4. Buster & J Ging [+1.5] vs. Anthony & Jack [-1.5]

Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, Jack Nicolaus, Anthony Turrisi.. is what people think when they think of the Mt Rushmore of golfing legends. But... maybe we will have to change our thinking when setting these lines, as team Buster and Ging were on one this week! Buster came out swinging and found 4 birdies along the way, shooting a 35 and playing what was his best round of the season! Finishing the round in bare feet, you could feel the stress of Turrisi as he is looking for some nod to an even matchup as he is consistently paired with good golfers. LeHim helped along the way, as the ganj was in the air and maybe relaxed Buster enough to lead to such a low round. Looking to next week, Buster and Anth will see eachother again and we are already thinking "EVEN MATCH" for whoever is setting the lines.

For the weeks 14, 15 and 16 Ryan will be out on vacation and birthdays and anniversaries. So, if this is the last recap of the season, it has been a pleasure! I vote Ging takes over in writing them in my absence! Good luck to Commish and HR in handling the line and recap management over the coming weeks!
