WEEK 12

Week 12 showed our age as hangovers from the tournament Sunday trickled into Tuesday's round. On a beautiful 80 and sunny evening with the first Rico and Bryce pairing, the boys gathered and all talks were recapping the Signature Tournament Sunday.
Quick Tourney Recap:
Thank you everyone for playing, getting groups together, and making it a memorable first tournament! Thank you Ging for getting us the break in the weather to squeeze the round in. I have never seen that many degenerate golfers under one roof, and we definitely all went for it! From Bryce's broken 8 iron, to the Susan B Anthonys shooting 13 under, to Fo drinking Luca's Four Loko, and Ray's positivity, it was an awesome experience.
League Play:
Before getting to group results, we're going to go with next week as the final week of league play to determine Regular Season Winner, and playoff seeding. As it stands now, we have a tight race for first place with Tino and Buster tied for first, followed by Cavs, George, and Tommy all a game out from the top spot. Playoffs will roughly run for four weeks, let us know if you will be able to swing it.
Group Results:
1. Tommy & Ian [+3.5] vs. Johnny Cavs & Anthony [-3.5]
Filling in for Rico Jr. this week, Ian was dying to get some more golf in as he has been playing every evening at Shore Acres. With a high vegas line this week, Tommy and Ian thought they had an edge but no line is safe from the power of Anthony. Reports in this one were Ian played very well, as Tommy and Ian both ultimately shot a 45 and turned out to be leading by the hook going into the last hole. But, with the pressure on at the last tee box, Ian's drive went left, Tommy's drive went right and Anthony's went right down the middle. The rest was history, as Anthony was able to win the last hole and secure the 3 points. Johnny Cavs pulled in right at tee time and left right after the final hole without so much as a hi or bye, as rumor was he had to leave immediately for a hot date!
2. Cavs Sr. & J Ging [+1] vs. Bunting & Turrisi Sr. [-1]
Team Signature waited all day for this one, as the two worked away and stared at the course thinking of the round that they would have. Unfortunately, all the visualizing was no match for the JB and Turrisi pair. Turrisi was still nursing his hangover and possibly roofie recovery from the tournament, and was committed to not drinking. That lasted maybe half a hole as the Genny Lite was cracked and he was right back on the horse. A day and a half without alcohol was too much time off! After reports of Cavs' putting being a mess, and Turrisi and JB sinking putts all over, ultimately Team Signature fell and chalk up another W for the retired guys.
3. Bryce & Uncle Rico [+2] vs. George & Ryan [-2]
Summer lovin, happened so fast. Featured in this week's image, the long awaited pairing of Bryce and Uncle Rico finally happened and they took full advantage. As Bryce went carded two birdies on the day and an impressive 42, Ryan and George were stunned how they could not catch a lead. With Ryan and Geo shooting a 43 and 45, they felt like they were in control and finding a comfortable amount of pars that on any other week would win holes, the magic of Bryce and Uncle Rico was just too strong. The two had Timbits, beef jerkey, pringles, Gennys, Zyns and all the dope. Rico's bag also wasn't strapped in for half the round. Not to mention, the two started playing a scramble thinking they were still in the tournament! I have no idea how they did it, but they pulled it off and they deserved it!
4. Buster & Jake [-3] vs. Jack & Eckl [+3]
As Bryce was saying in our group, Buster was going to be in for a treat playing with these three. In their first pairing of the year, cousins Jake and Buster were rolling together as heavy favorites against Swoopy and Eckl. With arguably the most powerful drivers of the golf ball collectively, this group did have a chance to go the distance as Swoop and Eckl needed to win the last two holes to push for a tie. Buster however hit a 320 yard drive on 17 to the fringe, and hit a quick chip to a tap in for birdie. Pushing himself and Jake to the top of the leaderboard going into the last week, as all the top dogs lost. With a lot on the line going into the last Buster has a chance to secure league winner before bouncing out to school to start the soccer season.
