Week 2

Week 2 coming in hot as the group was early to the course this week to take advantage of the summer weather. With a large gathering at Signature pre-round the boys were sipping twisted teas in silence as Cavs and Ging lost Spectrum and had no internet to get the tunes going.

Thankfully, we all had Neil Sedaka stuck in our head from Tino serenading us early that morning to kick off the day! We will look forward to his morning karaoke the rest of the summer!

If you're wondering about the featured picture this week - the top story of week 2 is Swoopy is the leader in the clubhouse, and is the only golfer to start 2026 season with a 2-0 start. Talk about a guy who has been dialed in on the course! Why is he holding a plate of spaghetti? Well, Rashad and Timber Ridge featured spaghetti & meatballs as the special this week on a 90 degree day. Talk about a light meal after a hot round. Rico Sr. couldn't help himself and had to order a serving, but made sure Luca had parmesan cheese first so he could really enjoy it.

Cookie Gate: Something to keep an eye on is the cookie purchasing as we are starting to see players stocking up on the good cookies to enjoy throughout the week, leaving other players to fight over the bad flavors for the ride home. Commish may need to implement a player max or get Timber Ridge to double the count on Tuesdays.

Week 2 Results:

1.  Jake & Anthony [-2]  vs. Turrisi Sr. & Jay G [+2]

The league was excited to welcome back Jay this week, making it two consecutive starts from the up and coming super sub to ride in the cart with our former league champion Turrisi Sr. But, it would be a tough test for this group as Anthony made his league debut this week and Tino was sporting a fresh pack of Marb Reds. With another week of Tino setting the tone off the box, this group was off to the races. As it turns out, this one came all the way down to the 9th green and due to some poor putting, which is shocking for a Turrisi Sr. group, Anthony and Tino were able to take this one. There were rumblings after the round that the card was inaccurate as may have been a tie. But Jake said beat it and took the 3 points.

Another point in this one was Tino almost had the first hole-in-one, missing the cup by 6 inches! Next time cuz!

2.  Tommy & J Ging [+2.5]  vs. Buster & George [-2.5]

Back to back weeks for Himmer and Tommy in the cart as the dope show was stronger than ever. Team Masi was paired up this week and after a stern warning from Rico Jr. earlier in the day on their arrival times, were at the course early and ready to go! Vibes were high in this group but despite an Aaron Rai like performance from Buster, Tommy and Ging were just too strong. Maybe Ging had the spirit of Wembanyama this week? Or it was the stellar play by Tommy who has been solid in back to back weeks and even had a hole out on the par 3. Tommy and Ging took this one to secure their first wins this season and start the leaderboard climb.

3.  Cavs Sr. & Bryce [+1.5]  vs. Ryan & Uncle Rico [-1.5]

Another league debut as Bryce made the first appearance this week, showing up in a beautiful pair of pants! Which he quickly changed out of because of the heat. Cavs was getting very nervous that he was going to have to go alone as Bryce whipped in to the parking lot right at tee time, forfeiting the warm up period and decided he would figure it out on the course. Thinking Ryan and Rico had them right where they wanted them mentally, it wasn't the case. After a slow start for the Cavs and Bryce group, Bryce got hot mid way through and would not let Ryan and Uncle Rico get ahead. As this group started to melt down late because of the bugs, Cavs and Bryce were able to handedly take this one, closing the door by being 1 up with 1 to play (up 2.5 on the line).

4.  Jack & Rico Jr. [-1]  vs. Johnny Cavs & Eckl [+1]

After waiting for almost an hour on the box to get started, this group was slated to be more of an even match up then it turned out to be. After an uncharacteristic start from Rico Jr last week, he went on a tear early and won the first 5 holes. Carding an eagle on the short par 4, this group quickly went from being a match to a gentlemen's day on the course. Trying to speed it up at the end because of the bugs, this group joined group 3 on the last hole to get the hell out of there and get to dinner. Rico Jr. carded an impressive 41 and should have been less if Eck didn't jinx him by commenting on his stellar play.
