How about you go over and introduce yourself, build me up, that way I don't have to brag about myself later. I'm going to hang by the bar. Put out the vibe.
We have a LOT to cover with week three but we have to start with the true top story..
PACKERS UPDATE : Courtesy of our Packers insider, Jake, it was announced that Packers star RB Josh Jacobs was arrested on five charges including battery/domestic abuse, property damage, disorderly conduct, and strangulation. Per league sources he is denying allegations as these are pretty light charges and we shouldn't expect them to stick. He's a really nice guy. Tino informs us that this does not affect his standing for the upcoming fantasy draft and will likely still go in the first round.
In other news, a couple league etiquette warnings to give out this week:
Ryan - I have to call myself out for having to bail on dinner. The boss was on me and I couldn't stick around, but missing dinner on a perfect night is just inexcusable!
Eckl - Rumors were swirling that Eck missed this week due to his son's 1/2 birthday. Although unconfirmed, it caused some rumblings around the dinner table, and people were questioning his dedication to the league. Thankfully, this is a group of family men so we can let this one slide!
If you had the chance to swipe through the pictures, you'll see Anthony holding a couple quick draw tickets.. If you zoom in you'll notice the man won $10,000!!!
He had asked Luca what were the chances that a guy like him would end up with a winner?
She replied.. Not good, more like one-in-a-million.
With a long pause, he goes, so you're telling me there's a chance!!
Congrats to the huge win! Hopefully drinks were on him!
Week 3 Results:
1. Buster & Jack [-2] vs. Uncle Rico & Tommy [+2]
Kicking off this week with our league leader paired with Buster against the consistently dangerous Tommy paired with Uncle Rico. Striping his first drive off the tee, Uncle Rico was looking limber and fully prepared wearing pants this week to fight off the bugs. In a match that went all the way around to the last Uncle Rico and Tommy had a chance to seal it on the par 3 8th, but let Buster and Jack hang in going to the last hole. Ultimately this match ended in a draw and left Uncle Rico and Tommy looking at Buster thinking.. he must work out. However, Swoopy remains undefeated to start the year and at the top of the board, Uncle Rico secured his first points of the season and has us thinking it must be the pants!
2. Cavs Sr. & Ryan [PK] vs. Harry Dunn & Lloyd Christmas [PK]
In the highly anticipated even match of the week, the Bald Eagles were paired for the second time this year against Commish and Ryan. As this match was expected to be fireworks from the get-go, what we weren't expecting were the Dumb and Dumber outfits from Jake and Rico. Unbelievable!
The Eagles put their foot on the gas and never let up this round. With an actual "eagle" in the tree on hole 2, all signs pointed to domination this week. As Cavs and Ryan struggled around the greens all day, Jake and Rico were driving around the cart going..
You're it..
You're it, quitsies..
Anti quitsies, you're it, quitsies, no anti-quitsies, no startsies
Ultimately with Rico birding the par 5, the Eagles sealed this one by being three up with two to play with Cavs and Ryan never winning a hole all round.
3. Bryce & Eckl Sr. [+1.5] vs. George & Turrisi Sr. [-1.5]
With his suspension lifted, Eckl Sr. got the text to fill in today as Commish said we usually don't pick up hitchhikers.. but saddle up partner! This group was tricky for Vegas to place because Geo and Turrisi have the ability to turn it on on any given day, but Bryce and Eckl Sr. are two very sneaky good golfers and this match turned out to be as even as it could be. Catching up with this group on the 8th, Geo had a chance to seal it with a par putt but had a hard lip out pushing this group into the 9th hole on a half point difference. With Bryce hitting a beautiful green side chip and leaving a short par putt for the win, he was banking on Turrisi missing a 7 footer. As we learn week after week, the man does not miss putts. Draining this one Turrisi hit a walk off winner and left Bryce and Eckl Sr. soul searching.
4. Paris & Anthony [-3] vs. Schmitty & J Ging [+3]
First time sub Anthony Paris was riding along with the always dangerous Anthony Turrisi against a true vibes cart with Ging and Uncle Eddy. Wearing no sun screen and frying all day at Signature, Ging was begging Commish for a higher line but was not granted. In what would turn out to be his day, Anthony took full advantage and buried the Team Ging handedly. Walking home, Ging and Schmitty were stopped by a bus of bikini models looking for two oil boys to grease them up before each competition. Ging happily exclaimed, the town's back that way!
