Week 6

ree

I'll tell ya what - bald eagle week is a special week at the Signature Open. The sun was out, we found the 80s, the ladies were far ahead and vibes were high in week 6! Not to mention, Geo was able to get some putts in this week before the tee box! Things are really looking up

In other news.. Rashad hired a doppleganger in the kitchen which confused Rico Sr. and had him ordering the turkey reuben which could be a league first. There seems to be a high demand for cookies and brownies that players have begun reserving them before sitting down to dinner? Maybe Luca will have to present a dessert menu each week for the players!

Group 1. Johnny Cavs & Rico Sr. [+3.5]  vs. Eckl & Tommy [-3.5]

Joints, bowls, and smart bongs this group got us going with a cloud of smoke and a couple nice drives from Eck and Tommy. With pace of play never an issue, this group cruised right behind the ladies and kept the league in a nice rhythm all the way around. With a line pretty accurate until the last, Eckl and Tommy were able to pull this one out and the league would like to officially welcome back Tommy. Carding a score in the low 40s, we have all been waiting for him to find his form like last year, where the drive was smooth and automatic down the center. You wouldn't know he had been in a slump sitting in 3rd place on the leaderboard, but now that he's back... look out!

Group 2. Cavs Sr. & Ryan [+3]  vs. Turrisi Sr. & Anthony [-3]

Another tough matchup for Ryan this week, facing Buster and Rico last week to turn around and face the Turrisis' this week. But, partnered with Commish the pair were feeling confident coming into the round.. at least Ryan was. With a quick 9 switch to start, Commish sent the league off the back to avoid the ladies, and the switch might have done the pair in mentally. Losing 3 of the first 4 holes, Ryan and Commish were battling a complete meltdown early, as the Turrisi's were smooth sailing . With Anth facing some trouble adjusting to the new putter, the door was never completely closed, and this match turned out to be all square going into the 18th. With Ryan duffing a putt green-side, both Turrisi's went on to par and win the hole, shutting out Ryan and Commish. Something about Turrisi Sr.. he just shows up and wins matches!

Group 3. Rico Jr. & Jake [-4] vs. Jack & Bunting [+4]

BAAAALLLLLLDDDD EAGLLLLEESSS! The most feared duo in the league, powered by putting their domes together was the theme of the week this week. In their first pairing this season, they had to overcome a high line against Jack and JB, forced to win 5 of the 9 holes. Vegas nailed the line on this one, with Jack and Bunting needing to win the last to tie the match. Unfortunately, it was never to be the case with the eagles chemistry being just too much. Starting their summer undefeated as a duo, and pushing Sciortino and Rico up the leaderboard together, there seems to be some magic following these two. Tino again, took best dressed and is cruising on all fronts this year.

Group 4. Bryce & George [+1.5] vs. Buster & J Ging [-1.5]

Geo formally addressed HR with his starting tee time consistently being the 4th group.. which may be affecting his winning ability! In a tough matchup this week, Bryce and Geo had to take on Buster and Cousin Him, who have been hot of late in a tough 1.5 matchup. Coming to the end, Bryce and Geo held a half point lead with 2 to play, but that's when Buster stepped on the gas - birdieing the last 2 holes to seal the deal. Bryce once again has been left searching for points, who came out week 1 with a nice round resulting in a tie but have been in a slump ever since. Ging officially broke his tie with Johnny Cavs and passed him on the leaderboard, which the two argued about at dinner along with which bong Bunting used over the winter.. it was a lot!
